A large collection of distinctive restaurants is an asset to the village of Sedona. Gourmet food can be enjoyed at all meals. Southwestern cuisine (blending cowboy chow, New Mexican and California influences, and Mexican fare) is especially notable. Start the day with an exciting breakfast: —a plate-filling Mexican-American offering with vibrant flavors and a town/red-rock view at the long-established Oaxaca; —an innovative blue cactus crepe and homemade pastry at Ken's Creekside Restaurant (don't be surprised if Ken bursts out in song); or —an elegant creative breakfast in the Gallery on Oak Creek at the Amara Resort, a luxurious upscale meal even at breakfast time. Lunch is a delight at Shugrue's Hillside Grill where the view from the alfresco deck can't be beat. Dinner choices are delightfully diverse, including: —the Silver Saddle Room of the Cowboy Club, where the "cuisine of the Old West" is given delightful updates in buffalo skewers, cactus fries, and cowboy gumbo; or —Dahl & Diluca Ristorante Italiano where classic Italian cuisine is given expert attention; or —Rene at Tlaquepaque, the long-established refined source of creative Continental cuisine including assorted flambeed desserts presented tableside.
