Mount Dora’s long, genteel past is proudly preserved on a historic picture-postcard main street that ends in a scenic park near a refined historic inn on Lake Dora. Nearby, a stately city hall tops a hill above a handsome block-square park. Numerous specialty and antique shops and restaurants on tree-lined streets fill out the compact district. Horse-drawn carriages are sometimes available for romantic tours of the area, and trolley tours are always popular.
