After more than seventy years, the Oregon Shakespeare Festival is world-famous. From February through October, the Tony Award winning complex features major plays by the Bard and others in three splendid theaters. The outdoor Elizabethan Theatre, with a stage and auditorium in keeping with the original Globe Theatre of Shakespeare's time, has evolved through a multi-million dollar renovation and enhancement. The indoor Angus Bowmer Theatre and the intimate 350-seat New Theatre assure ideal playing spaces for any production. Guided backstage tours let visitors see what goes on behind the scenes at the Festival's theaters. At the Exhibit Center, you can touch props and try on costumes. The Tudor Guild Shop offers a wealth of gifts related to Elizabethan times and Ashland.
