Among the oldest and largest exposed rocks in North America is this 425-foot-high dome of solid granite. The massive landmark which covers one square mile offers rock climbing on several miles of hiking trails including Summit Trail which is one-half mile to the top at an elevation of 1,825 feet. Picnicking and camping are also available along a scenic little stream, plus outstanding star-gazing opportunities. |
